Sigma Chi- Lambda Theta Chapter was founded on November 20, 2010. At the time of its founding, it became Sigma Chi’s 237th chapter and Canada’s tenth chapter. Since then, we have initiated over 100 members and have become one of the top fraternities in Ottawa in terms of brotherhood, philanthropy, and developing student leaders.

ABOUT US

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

To ensure that our Fraternity is sustained by young men worthy of membership. The Jordan Standard represents a set of prerequisites which all members of our organization possess. Our brothers constantly improve upon these principles during pledgeship and other development opportunities provided by Sigma Chi. Members are given the opportunity to take on leadership positions within our organization and develop their organizational and management skill-set. Our chapter’s leadership development is best exemplified by the fact that a large number of our members are also involved with leadership outside of Sigma Chi such as for campus clubs, our local community, sports teams, and in student government.

SOCIAL AND PHILANTHROPIC EVENTS

Pledging Sigma Chi might very well be the best decision you make during your college years. You will experience deep, lifelong friendships only made possible by the strength of our brotherhood. You will also have the opportunity to participate in many of our social and philanthropic events. Brothers join together at brotherhood events, formal banquets, mixers with other sororities,  and also at our biggest philanthropic initiatives Homeless for the Homeless and Derby Days (Learn more here). We strongly believe in striking a balance between academic events as well as extra-curricular activities; joining Sigma Chi will allow you to do so, while occasionally helping the community in the process.

DIVERSE MEMBERSHIP

Our members come from all different academic backgrounds, cities, ethnicity, interests, and talents. There is a likely chance that you will share a commonality with one of our members! Few undergraduate student organizations boasts the diversity Sigma Chi- Ottawa possesses. More importantly, members within our organization treat one another as brothers, respecting each other’s  convictions and temperaments
